Over the last several weeks, we have been migrating our web domain and email addresses from www.wickliffauctioneers.com to www.bidwickliff.com. Some may have noticed this change, and some may not, as the previous domain and email addresses associated with wickliffauctioneers.com are still, and will continue, functioning. Our company name remains Wickliff Auctioneers; the only change being addressed here is the web domain.
As we steer our company through the landscape of a changing market, we continue to adapt to meet the needs of our buyers and sellers. So, why bidwickliff.com? There are a few reasons:
It’s easier to spell! Many times our prospective sellers will ask for our email address in a phone conversation, in order to send us photos of items for consideration. The new domain is fewer characters and easier to spell, resulting in fewer misspellings, which reduces the chances of errors and the possibility of images sent to us that aren’t received.
The shorter domain more effective for our print and electronic marketing. It fits easier onto a real estate sign, requires fewer characters on a postcard, and it’s fewer characters to type into a web browser.
Probably the most significant factor is the evolution of our services. In 2018, Wickliff Auctioneers (prompted by the departure of a national, online estate sale company from the Indianapolis market) quietly announced our Online Estate Sale service. Why did we do it quietly? Well, to be candid, we weren’t sure what to expect, in terms of response. Much to our surprise, the response has been, let’s say, significant. Our regular clientele of buyers have noticed the increase in our online-only estate offerings, and the growth has been phenomenal. We are gaining new buyers from multiple demographics, and it’s exciting to see new faces coming to our gallery, most of whom didn’t even know we were here!
This increasing database of buyers means that our sellers will enjoy an even larger buyer base, resulting in more exposure for their estate items, fine art, fine jewelry or special collections. We have been encouraged by the response of our new buyers, and work hard to gain their trust, which will increase bidder participation on ALL of our events!
So, www.bidwickliff.com is the web domain that incorporates our name recognition (built upon decades of superior service) and our increasing commitment to generate more bidders, from multiple avenues.
Thank you for your continued support of Wickliff Auctioneers!
