2015-09-09 11.05.25Why do we call our September 11th and 12th auctions the “Premiere” auction events? For a couple of reasons: 1) years ago, the September auction event was designated as featuring high-quality fine art, so many of our clients and customers targeted that auction as a good month to buy or sell, and 2) this year’s September 12th session is the culmination of four months of consignments, therefore both of our showrooms are full, comprised of everything from antique furnishings, high-quality decorator furnishings, Romweber Viking Oak, pottery, porcelain, African artifacts, and a large selection of decorative arts and Oriental rugs. And, in a sense, we’re premiering the fall auction calendar, which is filled with catalogued sessions and specialty auctions through early December.

2015-09-09 11.06.342015-09-09 11.05.54There are a variety of styles offered on Saturday, including modern design, antique, vintage, period and period-style, and everything in between. Consignments from all over Indiana, plus out-of-state consignors include a Fort Wayne physician’s collection of period antiques, a collection of art and antiques from a well-known collector in southwest Indiana, the inventory of the former Batesville Antiques (thanks Jake and Betsy!), decorator furnishings from a Geist, waterfront home, an Ohio collection of quality art glass and porcelain, a Fort Wayne estate with antique Oriental carpets, and many other consignments selected especially for this event.

Of course, this auction includes a large selection of original fine art, by listed historic and current Indiana, regional American and European artists. We believe that our art selection includes paintings, prints and works on paper to suit all tastes. Paintings by a number of Indiana artists are featured, including a large selection of paintings by current members of the Hamilton County Artist’s Association from a private collection.

537_1596_1We are also pleased to offer a special session of fine jewelry on Friday, September 11, at 5pm. Over 150 lots of rings, watches, bracelets, fine diamonds, colored stone jewelry, vintage jewelry and more are included in this event. Many fine timepieces are offered, including several new watches from Moyer Fine Jewelers. New watches will, of course, carry the manufacturer’s warranty, and come with the guarantee of quality that is the benchmark of Moyer Fine Jewelers. It’s never too early to buy that Christmas present for that special someone…!

2015-09-09 11.06.05In an effort to accommodate busy schedules, we have added a jewelry preview on Thursday, September 10, from 4-7PM. Our Friday preview is open from 2-7PM. Due to security requirements, we are unable to accommodate previews outside of posted times; thank you for your understanding.

We understand; Friday night offers high school football, Saturday offers various festivals, and calendars are often filled with obligations in busy lives with many commitments. For these reasons, we offer our onsite previews, as well as multiple tools with which our buyers can participate in the auctions, including our online catalogue for absentee bidding, phone bidding on items with low estimates of $1000 or more, and live auction broadcast for real-time bidding using Bidsquare or Live Auctioneers.

In summary, this weekend’s auction includes over 750 lots of quality to suit multiple tastes and decorating styles. Do not miss this opportunity of variety and quality offered this month. Join us live or online, and happy bidding!
