This has been a special year for us, as Wickliff Auctioneers marks its 25th anniversary.

Since 1991 we’ve been establishing ourselves as one of the premier auction houses in Indianapolis and across Indiana, while developing a national reputation for quality and reliability.
Through economic volatility, political turmoil and cultural changes, we’ve been a constant in many people’s lives as they seek out fine art, fine jewelry, antique furnishings, vintage coins and other important, impactful and often historic items.
We also see ourselves as educators and even curators when it comes to fine art and fine antiques in Indiana, and are glad to share our appreciation for items of quality, luxury and elegance with our customers and our community.
At the same time, we’ve also had to educate ourselves regarding the rapidly-evolving tastes and needs of Millennials and other, younger consumers; many of whom prefer to shop and make their purchases online.
Recent studies show that a growing number of U.S. consumers are discovering art via social media channels. And according to that data these consumers, especially among the younger generations, understand and appreciate the long-term investment value of purchasing art – so we remain encouraged that young adults will continue to find their way to our auctions.
Our reputation has been built on more than just being one of Indiana’s most prominent auction houses, however. We’ve developed a solid standing with our customers thanks to our staff’s professionalism and integrity.
That ability to bring together quality items of real interest and value to our region, and to remain transparent and involved with both sellers and potential purchasers throughout the auction process, has added to our stature.
We are very grateful to the community that has helped us succeed for the past quarter-century, and we’ve worked to show that gratitude by giving back to our friends and neighbors.
For several years now Wickliff Auctioneers have been donating a portion of their commissions each month to local charities, as part of our “Give” initiative. We’ve also been working with high-profile charity auction clients while conducting live auctions for philanthropic organizations across Indiana.
October is traditionally a busy time for us. We’re currently preparing for two events that we expect will generate a lot of notice and interest.
Our auction of fine art, estate furnishings, a unique coin collection and more is taking place on Saturday, October 22nd. Be sure to look for the catalogue for that auction, which we expect to be posted in the next several weeks.
And later in the month, on October 29th, is our much-anticipated fall firearms and antique knife auction. This event will feature antique, vintage and modern firearms – including a very high-quality collection of factory-engraved Colt revolvers. There will also be an estate collection of vintage and antique knives.
But of course we hold auctions every month; featuring fine art from listed artists, as well as specializing in historic and regional art and antiques from around our state. We have a nationally-renowned expertise for our work with period antiques, fine jewelry, coins, estate collections – as well as arms and military items, both vintage and modern.
And while some of the larger, international firms grab most of the headlines, Wickliff has been steadily building on its brand as the premier, high-quality auction house in the Midwest.
So as we celebrate our 25 years and what we’ve been able to accomplish, we’re also proud of our ability to bring honest and reputable service to our clientele; an honor that is truly priceless.
